The Kayako SMS Gateway provides a credit-based service that will route SMS (Short Message Service) messages to mobile phones throughout the world. All you need to start using SMS-based alerts is your SupportSuite or eSupport installation and the SMS Gateway!

The Gateway covers more than 550 networks in 170 countries. Message delivery includes load balancing and intelligent routing. Prices are set per-message, and credits may be purchased at any time in the Members Area. To view a list of supported networks and countries, take a look at the current list.

Integration with SupportSuite and eSupport enables the receipt of real time alerts on a mobile phone. The SMS Gateway is only available for use with Kayako Products and cannot be integrated with any third party applications.

How to enable SMS Gateway integration from within SupportSuite or eSupport:
  • Log in to the Admin CP
  • Navigate to Settings > CPU Optimization & Server Settings
  • Enter your Members Area credentials and enable the SMS Gateway
  • Click 'Update' to save your new settings

How to configure SMS alerts for a staff user from within SupportSuite or eSupport:
  • Log in to the Staff CP
  • Navigate to Preferences > Settings and make sure you have specified the staff user's mobile phone number (no leading symbols such as '+').
  • Click 'Tickets' > 'Alerts' and create new alert(s) and set the type to 'SMS'. The mobile phone number speicified in the previous step will now receive real time SMS alerts when the alert rule(s) are triggered.
